Obituary: Muḥaddith al-ʿAṣr Shaykh al-Ḥadīth Mawlānā Muḥammad Yūnus Jownpūrī
بسم الله الرحمن الرحیم
It is with great sadness and sorrow we received the news of the demise of our teacher and the teacher of our teachers, Muḥaddith al-ʿAṣr Shaykh al-Ḥadīth Mawlānā Muḥammad Yūnus Jownpūrī (d. 1438/2017) this morning at approximately 5am British Summer Time. When I retired to sleep just after 2am, I had received the news of the demise of Ḥaḍrat Mawlānā Ismāʿīl Badāt a resident of the blessed city of Madīnah, who like Shaykh Muḥammad Yūnus Jownpūrī was a disciple of Shaykh al-Ḥadīth Mawlānā Muḥammad Zakariyyā Kāndhelwī (d. 1402/1982).

Photographs and Images
Is it permissible to take digital photographs of people without their permission? What is the ruling regarding keeping and circulating the images of pious people who have passed away? What about selfies in front of the Kaʿbah and in Masjid Nabawī in front of the grave of the Prophet ﷺ?
Baqīʿ Graveyard Queries
Has the blessed graveyard of Madīnah been called Jannat al-Baqīʿ in the aḥādīth? Are there any non-Muslims buried there? Who was the first companion to be buried there?

The scholars have differing views regarding the location of the grave of the beloved daughter of the Prophet ﷺ, Sayyidatuna Fatima (May Allah be pleased with her). The following document in Arabic outlines several views and concludes with the preferred view that she is buried in the Baqi graveyard, though the precise location of her grave in Baqi is unknown.
Intention for Witr Ṣalāh in Ḥaramayn
I have read your in-depth article regarding Witr Ṣalāh in Ḥaramayn and found it useful. I am travelling for ʿUmrah and have a quick question. What intention should I make for the first two Rakʿah of the Witr Ṣalāh considering that Witr Ṣalah is odd and considering that Witr Ṣalāh is Wājib according to us and Sunnah according to the Imam leading it? If you can provide an answer as soon as possible.
Congregational Tahajjud Ṣalāh in Ramaḍān Book Query
I have read your latest book الوضاحة في التطوع بالجماعة regarding congregational Tahajjud Ṣalāh in the month of Ramaḍān. Can you please clarify whether this practice in the way that it occurs in Makkah and Madīnah is permissible according to the Ḥanafī school of thought?
Witr Ṣalāh in Makkah and Madīnah
When we visit Makkah and Madīnah in Ramaḍān, should we perform Witr Ṣalāh behind the Imam who does Salām after the second Rakʿah?
