Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim Silk Ḥadīth Query
This question is related to two incidents transmitted in Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim regarding silk.
The first ḥadīth suggests that on one occasion ʿUmar (may Allah be pleased with him) saw a silken cloak and suggested to the Prophet ﷺ to purchase it. It is clear from the wording of the narration that ʿUmar (may Allah be pleased with him) was unaware of the prohibition of silk and was informed by the Prophet ﷺ. Continue reading
